Layla’s room
Layla’s room was designed to feel soft, calm and quietly playful.
We worked with a palette of soft blue, purple and pink, then balanced it with enough whitespace to stop it feeling busy or overwhelming.
That balance is what makes the room feel calm, even with multiple colours.
Colour & Balance
Using three colours all over can easily feel too much ... the key is how they’re used.
In this room:
- Colours are kept soft and tonal, not bright or overpowering
- Each colour is repeated in small ways across the space
- Whitespace (walls, furniture, layout) gives the eye somewhere to rest
This keeps the room feeling light and cohesive, rather than cluttered.

Pattern & Flow
The repeating circles add interest without being harsh.
Soft, rounded shapes help everything feel:
- more relaxed
- more cohesive
- more “floaty”
Nothing feels sharp or heavy, which is why the space feels so easy to be in.
Texture & Feel
Texture plays a big role in this room.
We layered in soft, tactile finishes to make the space feel warm and inviting ... not just visually styled, but comfortable.
It creates that feeling of being surrounded by softness … almost like floating in a room of light clouds.
Bringing It Together
This room works because everything is considered together:
- soft colour palette
- repeated shapes
- balanced spacing
- gentle textures
Nothing competes ... it all supports the same feeling. Happiness!

Matteo’s Monster Truck Room: A Playful Kids Bedroom That Grows With Them
Designing a kids’ room is about more than just making it look cute. It’s about creating a space where little personalities come alive, where imagination runs wild and where everyday moments quietly become core memories.
Matteo’s room is the perfect example of how to create a playful, high impact kids bedroom that still feels calm, considered and timeless enough to grow with your child.
This space was designed to spark imagination, encourage play and feel like his ... without overwhelming the room or locking the design into something he’ll outgrow in a year.

A Kids Room Designed for Big Imaginations
From the moment you walk in, Matteo’s monster truck wall decals set the tone. Bold, fun, and full of movement, they instantly turn the walls into a storytelling canvas. These aren’t just decorative ... they invite play. Toy cars can “drive” across the wall, races can happen at bedtime and stories unfold right where your child rests and reads.
The race track wall decals wrap around the room, creating a sense of flow and adventure while still keeping the space visually soft and balanced. This layered design approach gives the room energy without visual clutter.
This is the sweet spot of kids room styling. Playful enough to feel magical, calm enough to feel restful.
Personalised Details That Make It Feel Like Home
Adding your child’s name to their space changes how the room feels. The custom 3D name wall sign above the bed instantly anchors the room and makes it deeply personal. It’s one of those small details that quietly makes kids feel seen and proud of their space.
This kind of personalised wall decor grows with them too. It works just as beautifully for toddlers learning to recognise their name as it does for older kids who want a room that feels uniquely theirs.

Colour Without Chaos
One of the biggest fears parents have when styling kids rooms is colour overload. This room shows how colour can feel playful without becoming chaotic.
The soft blue bedding, warm yellow bedside tables and green checkered wallpaper balance the bold monster truck decals perfectly. The trick is to tie colours in but not match exactly and be sure to leave enough white space too! The room feels bright and happy, but still calm enough for rest, reading and wind down time.
This mix of neutrals and playful colour is key to creating a kids room that won’t feel dated or overwhelming as your child grows.
A Room That Supports Play and Calm
This space was intentionally designed to work for real life:
• Wall decals encourage imaginative play
• Clear floor space supports movement and games
• Bookshelves create easy access for reading and toys
• Soft textures keep the room feeling cosy
• Storage keeps clutter under control
This balance between play and calm is what turns a styled room into a lived in one. It’s not about perfection. It’s about creating a space that supports everyday childhood moments.

Why Wall Decals Are Perfect for Kids Rooms
Wall decals are one of the easiest ways to create impact without commitment. They’re ideal for renters, growing families and parents who know their child’s interests will change over time.
They allow you to:
• Refresh a room without repainting
• Change themes as your child grows
• Add personality without permanent changes
• Create visual interest without cluttering the floor
For busy parents, this flexibility is everything.
Designing Kids Rooms That Grow With Them
Matteo’s room shows how you don’t have to choose between fun and longevity. With a neutral base, thoughtful colour choices, and removable wall decor, you can create a room that evolves as your child does.
This space will transition beautifully from toddler years into early school years with only small updates needed over time.
Because kids rooms aren’t just rooms. They’re where stories begin, confidence grows, and memories quietly form.

How to Style a Luxe Vintage Teen Girl’s Bedroom | Emilia’s Room Reveal
Welcome to Emilia’s new room! 💕
At Blond + Noir, we’ve styled many kids’ spaces over the years, but this one has to be one of our all time faves, it’s truly something special. I’d like to say this is Emilia’s first real young lady room. She’s had a lot of bedrooms in her life, but this one is just so her. Feminine but edgy. Modern with a soft vintage vibe. Uber stylish and serene. It’s a perfect reflection of who she is and is becoming.

This room was designed to feel elevated and artistic, while still being warm, calm and practical. If you’re looking to style a teenage girl’s bedroom with wallpaper, wall decals and stylish room decor, this step-by-step will help you bring the look to life.
Step 1: Choose Warm Tones and Designer Wallpaper
We started with one of our signature gelato peach toned Vintage Panel wallpapers to set the scene. Warm peach or blush tones instantly elevate a space and add sophistication without overwhelming the room. Our removable wallpaper is one of the easiest ways to transform a space and define the style instantly.
Step 2: Layer with Luxe Textures
Creating a luxe vibe in a teen bedroom is all about layering. Think rattan or cane bedheads, soft quilted throws, striped cushions and playful pillows like this oversized heart. The scalloped edge rug we chose adds bold texture underfoot and brings in a sense of high end styling.

Step 3: Add Wall Decals with Personality
This space features Blond + Noir wallpaper & wall decals that enhance the mood of the room without overpowering it. They’re removable, damage free and designed with modern interiors in mind. Whether it’s gentle affirmations, soft arches or subtle patterns, decals can bring depth and intention to a wall without the need for paint.
Step 4: Keep It Feminine but Edgy
Balance softness with shape. The striped cushions and the neon name light give the room an edge, while the rattan textures and warm palette keep it grounded. This room proves you don’t have to choose between pretty and cool.
Step 5: Add Functional & Beautiful Art Prints
We finished the room with curated art prints that reflect Emilia’s energy. These framed prints add warmth and character while encouraging calm, confidence and creativity.
If you’re styling a tween or teen space, art prints for girls rooms are the perfect way to tie colour, mood and style together.

Step 6: Create Glow with Soft Lighting
The vibe of this room completely shifts with lighting. We added soft lamps and a warm Emilia Neon to create that peaceful, golden glow. The kind of space you want to spend hours in. Lighting matters more than people realise, especially for creating that calm and dreamy retreat feel.
This room was such a joy to create. It’s a little bit luxe, a little bit vintage, and full of love.

Erik’s Tween Gamer Room | A Bold, Playful Boys Room with Personality
Throwback to one of our favourite rooms of 2024! Erik’s gamer room from January.
This room was such a dream to create. It’s fun but still feels calm. Bold, but not busy. It’s got colour, structure, texture and just the right amount of personal flair. A little bit like my Erik!
If you're looking to design a space like this, here's how we pulled it all together step by step.

Step 1: Start with Bold, Removable Wallpaper
We kicked off the design with Bold Stripes Wallpaper done vertically in the robe & horizontally as a half wall in the room behind his bed. This wallpaper is fully removable, so it’s easy to change as they grow. The directional lines also help lift the ceiling and open up the room.
Tip: Choose a colour that your child connects with, but make it removable or changeable to style around as their tastes change. Blue is always a favourite for boys rooms and works beautifully with earthy or neutral tones, well as bold pops of colour!
Step 2: Add Playful Wall Decals
Our Über circle decals are one of the easiest ways to add personality to a space. They’re bold, graphic and so easy to place. We scattered them across the wall in sphinx, orange fizz, rush, succulent and black / white stripes to bring colour, contrast and movement.
Tip: Don't over think your wall decal placement! They are so easy to move, so use that to play around with different designs over time! We either group for colour to let it feel playful and creative. Or we make them a perfect pattern. Two different styles that both can work perfectly!

Step 3: Make it Personal
A custom neon name sign or acrylic name instantly transforms the space. It’s the hero piece in this room. Set above the bed or shelf, it gives the whole space a glow and makes it feel like it was designed just for them.
Tip: Neon signs work best with clean wall space or against soft wallpaper like stripes, spots or plains.
Step 4: Style for Function
We kept the styling simple but smart. Open wardrobe space, a small desk with just the essentials, and soft, comfy bedding. The mix of textures and patterns in the cushions helps the room feel styled without being overdone.
Tip: Choose just two or three statement tones to repeat through textiles, wall art and decor. In Erik’s room we echoed the warm orange, black and blue across every zone.

Step 5: Add a Little Fun
From the soft boucle chair to the floating shelf for hats and Star Wars books, this room has little hidden moments that make it feel loved and lived in. It’s not just styled, it Erik!
Tip: Ask your child what they want in their space. One or two items they love can help guide the rest of the design.
Erik’s room is a space he can grow into. It’s packed with style but still feels playful and calm. A little bit cool, a little bit classic, and full of heart.
Let us know what you think of Erik’s gamer space!

A Whimsical Room Makeover with Removable Wallpaper Strips | Zara’s Flower Room 🌸🍑💜
Miss Zara and I had the best day updating her room a couple of weeks back and we timed it to prove just how quick and damage free a full room makeover can be!
One of the best parts of working with removable wallpaper and wall decals? The zero commitment freedom. It took us all of 5 minutes to peel everything back to a blank slate… without a single mark left on the wall. 🙌🏼
But the fun didn’t stop there. We turned Zara’s space into a pastel boho dreamland with scalloped trims, bubble decals, and a whole lot of love. Keep reading for styling tips, product inspo, and why these little updates matter more than you think 💕

💜 Tip 1: Go for Removable (and Reusable!)
If you’ve ever hesitated to decorate because you're renting or worried about commitment, this is your sign. Our removable decals and wallpapers are peel & stick, removable and reusable, so perfect for changing tastes. Kids grow fast, and their rooms can too!
🌸 Tip 2: Layer With Texture and Shapes

From the ‘dream big’ wall script to her glowing neon name sign by @letterly_australia, this room reflects more than just Zara’s aesthetic, it reflects her. Add personality with wall art, custom signage, and curated accessories that grow with them.
And yes, she may forget the bedtime stories or the endless bedtime negotiations 😅 …but she’ll remember how it felt to be loved like this 💕
💕 Bonus Tip: It Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect—Just Full of Love
A desk from @melb.design.co, a heart light from @livly_lights, a mix of bedding from Adairs and Pillow Talk, and even a sweet little purple stool from Feelter, this room is proof that magic happens when you mix pieces from your favourite small business brands, with heart led styling.

A Dream Home Nursery for Goldie & Theo | As Seen on Channel 9’s Dream Home

A Space to Dream & Grow
When it came to designing a room for Goldie & Theo, Lara & Peter created a warm, modern Scandi space that felt both elevated and playful. The brief? A shared nursery that could grow with the twins while offering a peaceful sanctuary for Hannah & Jonny’s as parents.

Personalised Moments That Matter
Nothing makes a room feel more personal than custom details and our Acrylic Name Signs took centre stage here. Beautifully hand crafted works of art for Goldie and Theo in our signature retro font. Set above the cots to mark each twins space, the names added warmth, personality and that oh-so-special “made just for them” feeling.Art Meets Imagination
Lara & Peter also chose a curated selection of our Art Prints, addinglayers of colour and storytelling to the nursery. Each piece was selected to complement the colour palette and spark imagination, hung at just the right hight for kids! Because shouldn't the walls should speak to the little hearts that grow around them?!
And yes, we absolutely swooned seeing them styled alongside the stunning choice of soft furnishings and our Scalloped Light Switch Surround, which tied the room together with charm and character.

Why This Room Stole Our Hearts
At Blond + Noir, we’ve always believed that kids' rooms should be both beautiful and deeply personal. Seeing our products featured in such an intentional, heart-led design was a dream come true.
This nursery captured more than style. It held the hope, joy, and anticipation of everything to come.
Creating rooms for our kids to dream and grow. They are our future after all.

How to Style a Cowgirl Themed Room That Still Feels Magical and Modern | Aaliyah’s Horse Inspired Haven 🐴🩷💜
Designing a themed kids room doesn’t mean sacrificing style and Aaliyah’s new space is proof of that! From the moment she knew she was getting a room makeover, Aaliyah had two non-negotiables: our Cotton Candy wallpaper and a horse / cowgirl theme. Because… horses are life, obviously! 🐴💜

And we were totally on board. The brief was sweet and simple but the result is a room that’s full of heart, colour and personality. So how do you create a kids’ room that captures their passions without it feeling like a cartoon explosion? Keep reading for some styling tips (and a peek into this magical space).
💜 Tip 1: Let the Wallpaper Do the Heavy Lifting
Aaliyah chose our dreamy Cotton Candy wallpaper as her starting point and honestly, it sets the entire vibe of the room. With its soft gradients of pinks and purples, scattered with clouds and stars, this wallpaper feels like a warm, happy hug. The best part? It gives you a strong visual base to build your theme around, so you don’t need to overdo the styling elsewhere.

🩷 Tip 2: Source Decor to Match (If You Can’t Find It, Come to Us!)
We didn’t have any horse themed art that complemented the Cotton Candy palette… so we made some! A whole new collection of horse inspired prints and acrylics now lives in Aaliyah’s room, designed to sit perfectly with the soft pastels of the wallpaper and bedding. This way, her favourite theme still feels luxe and cohesive.
(Everybody say, “Thank you, Aaliyah!” for inspiring a whole new collection! 🙌🏼🐴)
🐴 Tip 3: Layer with Fun + Function
From the plush lilac bedding to the mint and candy pink pillows, the room is layered with comfort and personality. We added framed decals with whimsical illustrations (hello, unicorn hair!), a scalloped lilac border along the wall, and soft geometric rugs to break up the colour while keeping the theme playful.
We also included one of our signature acrylic name signs, because no dream room is complete without a little personalised magic!

💡 Bonus Styling Tip: Stick to a Colour Palette
What keeps this space looking stylish instead of chaotic, is sticking to a cohesive palette. Think purples, soft pinks, and minty greens with white and grey grounding elements in the furniture and flooring. Themed doesn’t have to mean loud!
Every detail in this room reflects Aaliyah’s personality, from her love of horses to her bright, joyful spirit and we are so proud of how it turned out.

How to Design the Ultimate Teen Bedroom: A Soft Blue Coastal Inspired Retreat
Welcome to Charlize's Coastal Teenage Retreat!
Designing a teenage bedroom is all about balancing personality, functionality, and style. It needs to be a sanctuary for rest, a haven for creativity, and a place where teens can
express who they are. Charlize's room is a stunning example of how a thoughtfully executed design can achieve all that and more. By following four key principles, starting

with a colour foundation, layering in texture and pattern, introducing a theme, and enhancing with mood lighting, you can create a space that is both beautiful and uniquely personal.
1. Start with a Strong Colour Foundation
This room begins with a soft and sophisticated colour palette, combining powder blue, blush peach, and warm neutrals. These hues are echoed across every surface! From the striped Blond Noir wallpaper behind the bed, to the soft textiles and decorative accents. This consistency creates a calming and cohesive base, which allows the room to feel both fresh and pulled together. The colours feel youthful yet refined, offering longevity as Charlize grows.
2. Layer in Texture and Pattern
Texture and pattern are what elevate this room from simple to styled. The mix of horizontal stripes, scalloped edges, plush quilts, and a geometric rug bring energy and visual interest without overwhelming the space. The fluffy stool tucked under the sleek wallpapered vanity, the soft pillows with ruffled edges, and the various fabric finishes all contribute to a layered, cozy feel that invites relaxation and comfort.
3. Add a Personal and Playful Theme
While subtle, the room carries a soft coastal vibe, thanks to palm tree motifs, beachy colour tones, and natural textures. Curved wall decals in peach and blue bring a playful touch, while the wood cut Letterly names like “dream big” and the teen’s name, “Charlize,” personalise the space and reinforce a sense of identity. This approach shows how a light handed theme can make the room feel curated without becoming cliché.

4. Set the Mood with Thoughtful Lighting
Lighting is key to creating a mood, and this room nails it. The illuminated vanity mirror offers warm task lighting perfect for getting ready, while natural light filters in through sheer curtains, bathing the room in softness. The
smooth use of warm mood lighting on the bedside tables and above the arches, promoting a calming zone for winding down after a long day! This type of layered lighting supports the multifunctional nature of the room. Bright enough for study sessions, soft enough for winding down in the evening.
This bedroom proves that designing for teens doesn’t mean sacrificing style or sophistication. With a gentle colour palette, tactile richness, subtle theming, and mood-enhancing lighting, it’s possible to create a space that’s both functional and expressive. Whether you’re starting from scratch or giving a teen’s room a makeover, these four steps offer a roadmap to a bedroom they’ll truly love.
